A prime opportunity beckons you to a tree-lined street in the sought-after Santa Fe neighborhood of North Oakland: A modern farmhouse nested on an extra deep and flat 6,750 square-foot lot, giving you the flexibility to extend your living space, add an ADU or possibly refashion it into a duplex (buyer verify with City and SB 9 State California Law). A splendid setting amid plentiful fruit trees and vegetable gardens form the backdrop for a private 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom, 1,437 square foot home. An open concept living space with French doors off the dining room creates effortless indoor/outdoor flow to a large wide deck overlooking the landscaped, newly fenced backyard. Below, a lower limestone patio and lawn will inspire both relaxation and play with a sandbox for the kids, raised vegetable beds and an orchard filled with Peach, Apple, Plum, Fig, Olive, Lime, Mandarin Orange and Avocado trees. The interiors have been remodeled in a contemporary farmhouse aesthetic, as demonstrated by the updated all-white kitchen with stainless steel appliances, refreshed bathrooms, designer light fixtures and hip slat wall in the living room. Two 2022 colors of the year by Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore were hand-selected to freshen up the walls, lending a calming yet uplifting presence to the rooms. Three bedrooms reside upstairs, including the primary bedroom featuring a delightful view of the garden. Downstairs, a fourth bedroom has sliding doors opening to the backyard and a full bath. A separate entrance makes this space ideal as an in-law suite or guest suite. The one-car garage has been outfitted with an EV charger, or could serve as a gym or artist’s studio. A location in Santa Fe means you’ll be living in a walker’s and biker’s paradise (91 Walk Score and 98 Bike Score) – near vibrant eateries like Alchemy Collective Cafe, Lois the Pie Queen, Thai Canteen, Sideshow Kitchen, Swing by Sweet Adeline Bakery or the famous James and the Giant Cupcake, plus local breweries like Novel Brewing and Hoi Polloi. You’ll be in a commuter’s paradise too – only a 15-minute stroll from the Ashby BART station, less than 500 feet from the F Route to San Francisco and conveniently close to freeways. Golden Gate playground and Dover Street Park are all under a mile from your address too. This is your chance to have it all in the East Bay!

The heart of North Oakland is located just a few miles from Downtown Oakland, and is one of the Bay Area’s most culturally and ethnically diverse neighborhoods. The residential streets are lined with beautiful, detached single-family homes, with architectural styles ranging from Edwardian to Craftsman. With close proximity to highways, BART Station, and public transit lines, residents of North Oakland are never too far away from all of the excitement of San Francisco, Berkeley, and the entire Bay Area.

Bushrod Park, a 10-acre community park, is located near the center of North Oakland. A community Recreation Center was added to the park in 2000 and features a full-size gym, playground, lighted basketball and tennis courts, baseball fields, and picnic areas. The park is also home to one of Oakland’s 23 community gardens, where locals can grow their own organic fruits, herbs, and flora for a small annual fee. If you are looking for a community that truly brings its residents together, Bushrod Park is an amazing option.

Some of the best restaurants in Oakland can be found less than a mile from the North Oakland area. A short trip down to Telegraph Avenue in Temescal will provide you with a seemingly endless array of dining options, including:

North Light: Part cafe, part bar, and part book/record store, North Light offers coffee from open to close and a unique menu with snacks, brunch items, and tasty happy hour plates.
Hawking Bird: This vibrant Thai restaurant goes the extra mile to provide incredible food from local sources. Stop in during lunch for their delicious Thai chicken and rice bowl, some crunchy wings, or a tantalizing salad.
Pizzaiolo: Featuring a full breakfast menu with delicious espresso beverages, this popular Oakland pizzeria is one of the few that opens its doors at 8am. Once lunchtime is over, the restaurant closes for over 5 hours, re-opening to a dinner crowd eager to taste the evening menu offerings.

Martin Luther King Jr. Way runs directly in between the Sante Fe/Bushrod neighborhoods in North Oakland, and serves as the main transit route for north/south travel. Route 18 will take commuters to the heart of North Oakland, and both Ashby and MacArthur BART Stations are just a short 10 minute ride away. If you prefer to drive, the CA Highway 24 provides a seamless avenue to Interstate 80 and the Bay Bridge.
